Vatican denounced execution

CBC News: “In an interview published in an Italian daily earlier in the week, the Vatican’s top prelate for justice issues, Cardinal Renato Martino, said executing Saddam would mean punishing “a crime with another crime.”

He has a point.  One of my relatives said the same thing when we told her about the execution; the first thing that came out of her mouth was, “oh, that is just being like him”.

They probably did him a favor by killing him. The real punishment would be rotting in jail by continuously being reminded of all the terrible crimes he perpetrated.

In the majority of the cases, I don’t think anyone of us have the right to kill a fellow human being no matter how heinous the crime might be. We should just lock such people up and throw the keys and let God pass the ultimate judgement.
