I recently came back from Ethiopia visiting the countryside, talking with the farmers.

One thing is quite clear to me than any time before; I have never appreciated how rich the country is! One has to simple look at the soil, and the abundance of it and the beauty of it.

Why are we starving then?

One farmer told me, they could harvest ‘teff’ every three months had they would be able to get water. Lake Tana is almost right there, yet not being able to use it. What a tragedy!

Who shall we blame for this? Our lack of creativity? The political leaders? Downstream neighbors like Egypt that would do anything to incapacitate the locals from using what’s rightfully theirs? World organizations and their personnels who were suppose to ‘help’, but that.

It is sad all around.

What to do? Got to use the water [that is right there]!
